I never intended for an entire week to pass without getting on here and
posting and chatting with all of you!
But life has a way of taking our plans and good intentions and showing
us that we really only have the illusion of being in control. So, after a
chaotic week in the real world, I'm back.
One thing that I've learned quickly over the last few posts is that
Mother Nature doesn't give a hoot about taking pictures for a blog.
and now drenched in a deluge.
In my last post, I was thrilled to be able to thwart Mother Nature's
efforts to sabotage the pictures. But, apparently it's not nice to
mess with Mother Nature because she got even with me on this shoot!
There's nothing too exciting about this outfit. How's that for honesty?
But, it was the weekend and I was more interested in comfort
than style.

I had just picked Chuck up at the Y because he had agreed to
take some pictures for me. On the way to my now very favorite
place to shoot, the heavens opened.
place to shoot, the heavens opened.
We started out under a covered area. But, then I thought it might be interesting
to take some pictures in the rain. Chuck, being the more rational person,
made a very valid point.
Cameras + Water = Disaster.
No problem! He could stay under the covered area and I would stand out in the
drizzling rain. After all, what's the worst that could happen if I got wet?

But I didn't melt. Although I look a little nervous here...
Despite what my stepkids think, I must not be a witch!
Of course, they probably spell it with a B!
I do have red "devil" eyes going on though!
Most people will edit out red eye, but I believe that in certain pictures it
actually adds to the overall feeling of the image. This is one of those cases
because of the background.
It also looks pretty cool when you are standing in a berry bush!
How is this for an amazing background?
My hope is that I will be able to get on some kind of schedule for posting.
But like I said earlier, life sometimes just laughs at our feeble
attempts to act like we are in control!

You get some awesome backgrounds in your shots! I think you did great in the rain - both in keeping stylish while fending off the showers and in getting some cracking photos! Love the boots and the hooded coat is great.
ReplyDeleteYou are beyond beautiful, and the backdrop is perfect, never mind the sleet, snow or rain.

I was viewing the other awesome post you linked to as well. Those photos were gorgeous! Is that any where near your home? And these photos with the rustic walls are...how do they say? Amazeballz? ha!
ReplyDeleteI never feel like dressing up much when there's a downpour, or going out much for that matter. But a hat does add to the overall style on a rainy day. Wait! Now I see that the brim is attached to your rain jacket. Very cool! The paisley scarf brightens things up too, I love it!
Looks like a perfect jacket for a rainy day, and the boots, too. I know what you mean about life taking control over us. I've been sick all week and don't even feel like moving, let alone take pictures. All this time off from work and I don't feel like doing anything!
ReplyDeleteA woman I knew said her stepson thought she was a witch. She paused for a second, then said, So I turned him into a frog!
These photos are really special! I love the backdrop and the feel with the rain. That is one chic looking rain ensemble, I must say.
